TEST LABS

Routine Test Laboratory for VT and CT

Batch testing of instrument transformers with safety and traceability is no longer a slow, manual process. The HVEX Routine Test Laboratory automates the whole workflow: conveyors move the test objects, pneumatic actuators switch the connections, and the software runs the tests, measures in real time and issues the report. With capacity for six test objects per cycle, a comprehensive integrated safety system and reports ready to the applicable standards, the laboratory raises the throughput of the test line without compromising reliability. As a Brazilian manufacturer of medium- and high-voltage laboratory equipment, HVEX delivers an in-house technology solution with competitive cost and full customisation.

Technical Information

Electrical supply
Three-phase supply with a main switch beside the power panel; the system uses a 55 kW / 220 V variable frequency drive with a 250 A main circuit breaker. Energisation only occurs when all access points are closed.
Compressed air
Required for the pneumatic actuators; periodic draining of the compressed-air filter is recommended.
Earthing
Safe and reliable earthing; the equipment is self-earthed and the high-voltage output line must not touch the ground.
Network and automation
Altus Nexto NX3004 PLC and HVEX acquisition module; communication over configurable IP (the PD test uses remote PC IP and port parameters).
Physical structure
Space for the panels (power, control and induced voltage), the high-voltage circuit, the test cell with conveyors and doors/windows, plus a machine room for the area scanner.

HVEX Routine Test Laboratory

The HVEX Routine Test Laboratory is a complete, automated platform for testing instrument transformers (VTs and CTs). Designed to combine productivity and safety, it integrates power, control and induced-voltage panels, the high-voltage circuit, a test cell with conveyors, and proprietary operating and analysis software. The system performs applied voltage, induced voltage and partial discharge tests, switching the connections automatically and allowing up to six test objects of the same class per cycle. From registering the equipment to issuing the standardised report, the whole process is run from a single interface, with a robust set of safety devices supervising every stage.
