SMART GRID
Fault Indicator
The HVEX Fault Indicator is an intelligent, high-precision device designed for automatic fault detection in electrical power distribution and subtransmission networks. With advanced current and voltage sensing technology, the system rapidly identifies short circuits and power outages, providing real-time information to the utility's supervisory control system. Equipped with robust sensors, the HVEX Fault Indicator performs continuous monitoring of networks, transmitting periodic data every 5 minutes and sending fault alerts within 30 seconds of detection. Locally, the device signals the presence of faults via high-intensity LEDs, allowing for quick visual confirmation in the field. The system features LoRa or NB-IoT communication modules, eliminating the need for concentrator boxes and significantly reducing infrastructure costs. Thanks to its optimized design, installation time is less than 15 minutes, making it ideal for modernizing electrical grids and smart grid projects. Typical Applications: Fault detection in overhead and underground distribution networks Subtransmission feeder monitoring Integration with SCADA and DMS systems Smart grid modernization Reduction of fault localization time in the field Remote monitoring via DNP3.0 Standards Complied With: IEC 60529 – Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code) IEEE Std. 495 – Application of fault indicators IEC 60255-21 – Vibration, impact, and shock tests IEC 60068-2 – Environmental testing (temperature, humidity, thermal shock) IEC 60060-1 – High-voltage test techniques IEC 61000-4-2 – Immunity to electrostatic discharge (ESD) IEC 61000-4-3 – Immunity to radiated, radio-frequency, electromagnetic fields IEC 61000-4-5 – Immunity to electrical surges IEC 61000-4-6 – Immunity to conducted disturbances, induced by radio-frequency fields IEC 61000-4-8 – Immunity to power frequency magnetic fields Technical Advantages: Fast and accurate fault detection with real-time remote communication Rapid installation (< 15 minutes) without the need for concentrators LoRa or NB-IoT communication, ideal for remote and urban areas Reduced outage times and operational maintenance costs Native integration with SCADA, DNP3.0, and smart grid platforms High reliability even under severe environmental conditions
