TEST LABS
High Current AC/DC Source and Thermal Cycle
The HVEX High Current Source is a complete solution for alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical testing, composed of integrated units with supervisory software and data acquisition hardware. Through HVEX Acquisition, timed tests are automatically controlled, ranging from seconds to daily heating and cooling cycles, with complete data logging of history and results. This modularity ensures safety, precision, and flexibility in critical tests such as: • Thermal cycling tests on circuit breakers and disconnect switches. • Temperature rise tests on terminals, splices, and medium/high-voltage cables. • Thermal endurance tests on reactors, transformers, panels, and substation accessories. HVEX complies with national and international reference standards: • ABNT NBR 5356-2 (tests on accessories for high-voltage cable terminals and splices). • ABNT NBR IEC 60947-2, as applicable to medium voltage circuit breakers, addressing temperature rise according to item 7.2.2 (up to +40°C above ambient temperature). • ABNT NBR 7102, which defines methods for synthetic tests on high-voltage circuit breakers. • IEC 62271-100, the international standard for high-voltage circuit breakers, guiding the execution of electrical and thermal cycle tests. • IEC 60076, the general standard for transformers, complementary to thermal load tests. Technical and Competitive Advantages: • Precise control of current and time: from seconds to complete, repeatable, and documented thermal cycles. • Continuous temperature monitoring on breakers, switches, splices, terminals, and cables — essential to ensure operational integrity and reliability. • System modularity allows for scaling according to the type of test (laboratory, in-field, in-line). • Meets safety and regulatory compliance requirements, ideal for companies that need to operate within standards required by ANEEL and other regulatory authorities.
