Repetitive Impulse Generator — up to 10 Hz

The HVEX Repetitive Impulse Generator is designed for impulse testing of electrical equipment, with a maximum repetition frequency of 10 Hz. Voltage, load, waveform and the firing sequence must be defined for the test configuration. The system can integrate HVEX LIAS for test control, acquisition and records. Remote operation, protection and mounting features are specified according to the application. To select a configuration, specify the test object, required voltage or current, waveform, load and repetition rate. The maximum frequency does not imply that all voltage, energy and load limits are available simultaneously.

Current Impulse Generator

The HVEX Current Impulse Generator tests surge arresters, surge protective devices (SPDs), and their varistors using 4/10 µs, 8/20 µs, and 10/350 µs current impulses, according to the specified configuration. Current amplitude is expressed in kA, while residual voltage across the test specimen is measured in kV. Maximum system ratings: impulse current up to 350 kA and residual voltage up to 250 kV.
